SILONotes keeps your writing on your device. AI is optional, and you always decide what leaves the page. Here is exactly how it works.
The app, by default
- Notes, audio, images, library books, and settings live in a plain database on your device.
- No account is required to write, record, or read.
- Nothing is uploaded in the background.
- No analytics kits and no marketing trackers are in the app.
- Backups are files you create and keep wherever you choose.
When you turn on AI
- AI is entirely optional, and the app is complete without it.
- Only the text you submit for a run is sent, never your whole library.
- Point at a model on your own machine, or bring keys for a provider you trust.
- You choose the destination, so you always know the boundary.
Optional hosted AI, in development
- A hosted option for people who would rather not run a server is being worked on.
- The details are still being decided and will be shared when ready.
- It will always be optional, and no feature will ever be locked behind it.
This website and the waitlist
- The waitlist stores only the email you enter, in a private database.
- Your email is never sold or shared.
- The waitlist is the only cloud touch on this marketing site.
